The raffle tickets are being distributed and sold. The first deposit of $800.00 from ticket sales has been made. We are raffling a $2,500.00 Travel Voucher from Travelog at $10.00 a ticket. The drawing for the Travel Voucher would be held on June 23rd at Travelog. Linda Wiedenfeld or Dave Lukens are distributing the tickets and receiving the stubs and money from members and volunteers.  Money can also be dropped off at Mueller’s.

Insurance for the event has been obtained for $4,200.00 for $5,000,000.00 coverage and covers 100 volunteers.

Curt Mueller reported on the progress of several items: Banners have been hung on the airport split rail fence in different locations. Gary Lewis from Kayser Chrysler will lend us vehicles for shuttle purposes from Mueller’s parking lot and the hanger area to the event area. There will be no access to cross the runway by any pedestrians, pilots or their passengers from the hangers to the event. Orange fencing will be run the entire length of the runway separating the area. The parking lot at Kelly’s veterinarian business is available for the shuttle service. The entrance for the Fly In will be at both ends of the property on Hwy 12. The exit will be at the north end only.

Car parking has been set up to run in rows along Hwy 12 from Curt’s hanger north to the end of the property.  Trucks with trailers will be parked at the far north end of the property.  Keith Ballweg has planned parking for up to 800 or 900 cars. It is expected that the number of people who will attend could be more than first estimated. A back up plan for additional parking was discussed.  Safety and traffic was again stressed as the number one concern of the event. Curt has contacted Culvers and the Mallards to have their mascots walking around the event. Hats and vests for the volunteers will be distributed by Sharon Barrett from Mission Control and volunteers will have to sign them out and in. To guarantee they will be returned for future use we will require volunteers to sign for them. Curt has organized a list of volunteers in the different areas they are needed and his employees have signed up for many of the spots. No children will be allowed to volunteer for safety and insurance purposes. Virgil Schulenberg will put up two Harley tents featuring bike safety education. The Sauk Prairie Ambulance will have a display. Christine McGarville presented the information for the Organ Donor Airplane that will be on display. They will feature a program with a presentation and a tour of the airplane.

Wisconsin Aviation and Travelog will share a travel booth. Fritz Wyttenbach will order 3000 chicken halves for the food stand. The Bank of PdS has donated 6,000 napkins. The area will be staked out and available for set up two or three days before the event. Bill Sterling reported that the Civil Air Patrol will bring in their trailer display. Robin Bromley from Sweet T’s has been making signs for the event. Robin requested permission to set up a booth for t-shirts promoting the Fly In and will donate a portion of the profits to the SPA. Any other vendor requests considered will be reviewed as long as it is airport related. An ad will be put in the papers requesting participants in the antique car, tractor, cycle, airplane display with the co-chairman Nick Lester, Bob Henry and Ron Lins as contacts.

The local newspapers have been running articles and ads featuring Fly In displays and information. Posters and flyers have been distributed in the area and other towns.

Curt presented current information on the GPS system the airport is trying to acquire.

The next Fly-In planning meeting will be Thursday, June 1,  2006 at 7 PM at the town hall.
