Present: Board Members: Kirk Olson, Bart Olson, Roger Thistle, Joan Weiss, Steve Troestler. Not Present: Bob Cushing, Al Checky and Ed Miller.
President Kirk Olson called the meeting to order at 7:07
Motion to approve the April 17, 2002 minutes by Roger Thistle. Seconded by Joan Weiss. Approved.
Motion to adopt agenda by Roger Thistle. Seconded by Steve Troestler. Approved.
Motion to approve Treasurer's Report as printed by Roger Thistle. Seconded by Steve Troestler. Approved.
Communications: None
Elections: At the June 19, 2002 meeting we will hold our annual election. Positions open are secretary-treasurer and (3) board members. President Olson suggested that we send out our notices earlier next month in hopes that more interest would be generated in the election and more members would attend this important meeting. All board members agreed.
Other Business: President Olson stated that there had been some confusion by some of the board members as to who was maintaining the runway lights and where the spare lights were being kept. It has now been brought to the attention of the board that Milt Schott has been doing this for the past 5 years and has a supply of lights at his hanger. The board extends a "Thank You" to Milt for doing this all these years. Dean Gilding has now volunteered to take over the job. Dean is living at the house on the airport.
Maintenance: If anyone notices a potential maintenance problem that cannot be fixed immediately, please call Bart Olson at 608-493-9470 or email bart@merr.com. The Board will check its list of volunteers or call a special meeting to make a decision to correct the problem. If you wish to be on a list of volunteers please contact above number.
Airport Signs: Signs warning against unauthorized vehicles on the runway or taxiway have all been installed by Roger Thistle at three locations at no charge to the airport. Thanks Roger.
An informal discussion on the airport's future ensued.
President Olson asked if there were any other business; as there was none as motion to adjourn was made by Steve Troestler. Seconded by Roger Thistle. Adjourned.
