President Kirk Olson called the meeting to order at 6:50
Motion to approve the September 19, 2001 minutes by Al Checky. Seconded by Ed Miller. Approved.
Motion to adopt agenda by Roger Thistle. Seconded by Al Checky. Approved.
Motion to approve Treasurers Report as printed (with date and AP corrections) by Ed Miller. Seconded by Roger Thistle. Approved.
Communications: Al Checky presented a letter from AON Insurance stating that endorsement 203 "Extended Coverage - War, hi-jacking and other perils" has been cancelled. No coverage of this type is available at this time. The remaining policy has not been affected. Bart Olson will call AON to verify.
Al Checky presented a mowing bill for $165 (3 mowings at $55) each.
Bart Olson will call the portable toilet provider and cancel service for the rest of the year.
Al Checky reported that the monument company's crane was being repaired which has delayed finish-up of the monument stone.
Kirk Olson questioned whether or not the underlying runway lights were all functioning properly. It was determined that these lights were not priority lights of the runway and may not be needed at all.
A discussion on why fencing was installed on the property was analyzed. It appears that the fencing deters unwanted traffic off the runway and also provides some windbreak.
Bart Olson again reported that Dale Ballweg was informed and agrees not to turn around on the runway with his farm equipment.
Brief discussion about the Civil Air Patrol offering flight instructions but details were sketchy.
Kirk Olson requested that (2) signs be placed east and west of the runway to eliminate an ever-increasing amount of traffic crossing the runway. A Motion was made by Bart Olson to construct and place the signs, which he will provide. The signs will state: No Vehicles Except Authorized Aircraft May Cross Runway. Seconded by Ed Miller. Approved.
President Olson asked if there were any other business; as there was none a motion to adjourn was made by Bart Olson. Seconded by Al Checky. Adjourned.
